Another Rice harvest has just passed us. It is very hard and labours work. For most hill tribe people groups almost half the year is spent just planting, caring for and harvesting rice mainly for personal consumption. Every year during the rice planting and harvesting season I am in awe of how much work and time is spent in harvesting rice just to eat. Everyone is busy helping one another out with the work load. This years harvest wasn’t as plentiful and we walked away with around 100 bags less of rice than last year. The up side is that everyone will have enough to eat for the year.
